About the Artist

Art by Tigerlily Creations

Born Brittany Alexis Mason, I sign all my paintings and identify as an artist using my preferred pseudonym Tigerlily.

I currently live in the city where I was raised- Dallas, Texas. I create all of my work in my apartment which doubles as my art studio. I love living where I create my art as I am never limited to when or for how long I can choose to work. My entire life revolves around my constant drive and desire to paint and create.

Since I was very young I have thoroughly explored every creative outlet you could possibly imagine. From excelling in choir and private voice lessons, to ballet that advanced me to Pointe. Time spent pursuing choreographed cheerleading, then more refined fine art classes in drawing and sculpting. But none of these areas ever gave me such a sense of purpose that I felt in my Junior year of high school when I took AP Art. This challenging class I first learned to build and stretch canvasses and was pushed past my comfort zone to truly think of the composition of my pieces, having overarching themes and ideas in my work that span over multiple individual works, meaning and inspiration behind my art that was not just creating to complete an assignment.

I am influenced by my own internal positivity and happiness. My love for life and all things living on this earth with us. I want all of my paintings evoke similar feelings of joy, love, and passion for enjoying life to anyone who is able to appreciate them. I love to be completely my own person and strive to achieve complete originality in my paintings. I am relentless in my desire to create paintings unlike anything else you see in galleries today. However I would be remiss to not acknowledge the influence and inspiration I have drawn from the movement of psychedelic art and music of the 1960’s and 1970’s.

I work primarily using oil paints. I mix them all myself from high-quality fluorescent (black light reactive) powder pigments, linseed oil, and cruelty-free soy wax (in place of the traditional bees wax). all my pieces are finished by outlining the main design using glow-in-the-dark paint and can be enjoyed even in the dark. The 3-Dimensional, sculptural elements are unique to each piece and have included a variety of mixed media such as, but not limited to- layered designs cut from acid-free and archival foam core board, construction caulking, hand sculpted polymer clay designs, aluminum sculpting wire, beads, yarn, cut out wood designs, metal designs cut using an oxy-acetylene torch, and dimensional fabric paint, and epoxy resin.
